Welding Fairs in Brno

International Fairs in Welding Techniques WELDING organized in the Czech city of Brno are some of the oldest exhibitions taking place in this city. Held every two years, this event is now in its 19th year. As many as 123 companies from 11 different countries participated, among others from Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Ukraine, Poland or the Netherlands. Running concurrently to the welding fairs, on 13-16th of Mai 2008, the city held other fairs dedicated to the technology of surface finishing – FINETECH, founding – FOND-EX as well as to plastic, gum and composite materials – PLASTEX.

IFWT WELDING have been organized in Brno since 1969. A long tradition and a large number of exhibitors make this fair one of the principal welding events in Central Europe. The surface area of the fair in Brno is impressive. Only the building which held the welding fair covers 4897 m² making it the largest facility of the four parallel exhibitions. Lincoln Electric was also present at this year’s fairs. As one of the few we presented a one-store facility with a total surface of 134 m². The ground floor was host to the whole range of products we manufacture, starting from electrodes, through pastime appliances and ending with machines dedicated to professionalists. We had a dedicated area in which we were able to demonstrate submerged arc welding (SAW), showing the welding parametres on a screen situated on a wall. In our stand the visitors had the opportunity to watch shows of semimechanized welding with the following methods MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG and FCAW as well as a stand dedicated to the robotization of the welding process. Each of the presentations was performed by a demonstrator, working daily in the Technology Centre WELDTECH Lincoln Electric Bester SA.

This allowed all interested parties an opportunity not only to see the shows, but also to directly receive detailed information concerning the used technology as well as the choice of suitable equipment. On the first floor of the stand we dedicated a quiet zone where visitors could have a conversation over a cup of coffee with representatives of the Lincoln Electric company.
All this contrived to make the fair in Brno are not only an ideal occasion to learn about the latest technologies in the welding sector, but also to help maintain closer relations betwen the company and its customers.
